Emart

Case study

emart × HanaLoop API Management Modernization

Challenge: emart faced limits in maintainability and operations due to degraded API integration quality and a lack of API management across internal systems such as eMoney.

Solution: HanaLoop sequentially performed API diagnosis, OpenAPI-based documentation repository setup, and an API Gateway PoC using Agile Scrum.

Result: The project identified API quality gaps, delivered improvement recommendations, established a standardized documentation repository, and validated integration through the Gateway to prepare the execution foundation for next-generation APIs.

Project Background

emart’s core systems, including the eMoney payment platform, had grown independently for years. API quality gaps, missing documentation, and fragmented management made it difficult for users and integration teams to understand and operate APIs consistently.

emart selected HanaLoop because it needed a systematic path from diagnosis to standardization and validation, not simply a tool deployment.

HanaLoop Approach

HanaLoop designed a three-stage engagement in which each deliverable became the input for the next stage, applying Agile Scrum with customer demo and review cycles to reduce delivery risk.

Phase 1 — API Diagnosis

HanaLoop evaluated eMoney APIs across maintainability, integration, and operability, cross-checking documents, interviews, repositories, tests, and monitoring reports to identify structural quality gaps.

Phase 2 — API Documentation Repository

HanaLoop defined eMoney API endpoints in OpenAPI format and built a documentation repository with SCM-linked automation so documentation could stay updated as APIs changed.

Phase 3 — API Gateway PoC

HanaLoop installed the selected API Gateway, built a test client and mock server, and validated eMoney API integration including routing, caching, and rate limiting to demonstrate production feasibility.
